THOF and network of agripreneurs in Fako workshop on food system in Cameroon
In 2019, THOF in partnership with Integrated Agripreneurs & Innovative Network (INAGINE) held the second workshop/conference on food systems in Cameroon. INAGINE is a network of agriculture entrepreneurs in Cameroon, founded in 2018; as a growing body, it has now co-opted many young farmers and transformers within the environs of the Fako division to share experience in the food system enterprise. This brought producers and transformers so as to discuss and see some of the challenges farmers have at the level of production and also the challenges faced by agriculture entrepreneurs. This symposium was held to address issues related to the food crisis that is threatening lives and livelihoods around the globe. So, THOF being a horticultural organization saw the need to drill and inform participants on innovative approaches to tackle some of the identified challenges. During the group dynamics, some major challenges of farmers/producers and potential solutions were discussed. Showcasing of farm produce and transformed agriculture products captured the interest of many and gave more insight into the world of food business and wealth creation. The symposium ended with a tour of the workshop at Regional Youth Multi pose Empowerment Center - the agriculture training center located on the building of the former Youth and Animation Center Buea.
